Defending Jacob by William Landay is a fascinating book about mystery, murder, family connections, dirty pasts, and conspiracy theories. I chose the audio book from a myriad of options because the book I really wanted to read wasn’t yet available. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprisingly drawn in by the narrator’s voice. Jacob’s father is a force to be reckoned with, and his fierce love for his son is admirable. The mother’s fragile collapse surprised me after she discovered her husband’s…genetic disposition. Between following the trial, getting to know Jacob, and the twist at the end: read it.
